Insurance & Billing Disclosures

Christian Heights Emergency Room is committed to providing clear information about emergency care billing and insurance. The notices below explain important information about freestanding emergency care, insurance participation, facility fees, and billing practices.

Freestanding Emergency Center Notice

Christian Heights Emergency Room is a freestanding emergency medical care facility. Charges for services may be comparable to those of a hospital emergency room and may include a facility fee.

The facility or a physician providing care may not participate in a patient’s health benefit plan provider network. Physicians providing care may also bill separately from the facility for professional services. Texas law requires freestanding emergency facilities to provide this information prominently to patients.

Insurance Participation

Christian Heights Emergency Room honors in-network benefits for medical emergencies under many commercial insurance plans and works with TRICARE for active-duty service members.

Coverage, network status, deductibles, coinsurance, and other patient responsibility can vary by plan. Patients with questions about specific benefits should contact their insurance carrier directly.

Christian Heights Emergency Room cannot file claims with Medicare, Medicaid, CHIP, or other government-funded insurance programs.

Separate Physician Billing

Depending on the services provided, you may receive a separate bill from the physician or other medical professional involved in your care. This professional bill is separate from charges issued by Christian Heights Emergency Room. Texas law specifically requires freestanding emergency facilities to disclose that physicians may bill separately.

Facility Fees

As a freestanding emergency medical care facility, Christian Heights Emergency Room may charge a facility fee in addition to charges for medical services, testing, imaging, medications, supplies, and physician care. Texas law requires freestanding emergency facilities to disclose that their rates may be comparable to a hospital emergency room and that a facility fee may apply.

Self-Pay & Pricing Information

Patients who do not have eligible insurance coverage may receive care on a self-pay basis. Actual charges depend on the evaluation, testing, imaging, treatment, medications, and other services required during the visit.
